So why is “safety not a priority”?<\/p>\n
Because priorities change over time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The priorities chase each other and overlap in the life of a company, they mix with the personal priorities of each of us, they can be subjective and can change routine work, imposing themselves with a certain urgency, today one, tomorrow the other.<\/p>\n Safety, on the other hand, is an essential value <\/strong>and as such:<\/p>\n When it comes to safety, therefore, there is no room for exceptions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In declaring this, we renew our goal of having an “incident free<\/strong>” company. Simply because it is unacceptable that even the smallest accident can occur in our company, to any of us.<\/p>\n Would you ever jeopardize the lives of your children because you are late for a meeting by going with the red?<\/em><\/p>\n Would you ever agree to send them on a trip, knowing that the bus they are traveling on has a flat tire, or that the driver does not have a driving license?<\/em><\/p>\n The answer is no: human errors, deficiencies in structures and systems, out-of-control processes, are all factors to be prevented and cannot be tolerated.<\/p>\n In pursuing this goal, we must always keep in mind that we are not alone: safety belongs to everyone, we all make safety.<\/strong><\/p>\n It is in this sense that we are all “leaders”: that is, we have the right and duty to stop unsafe activities and behavior.
